24/10/2010

workout of the day

It all happened so fast…

Gauntlet
100 barbell repetitions for time:
25x box jump, 24″ platform
max hang power clean @ 155/105-lbs.
25x squat
max front squat
25x pushup
max push press

In this workout, you may only rest and re-grip in the hang or front rack position during the hang power clean, and only in the front rack position during the front squat and push press. Any other position constitutes termination of the max effort.

If you have not reached 100 barbell repetitions by the end of the push press in round one, you must continue to cycle through the exercises (rounds) from the beginning, until 100 barbell repetitions are achieved or until the end of the 20-minute time limit.

While we’re talkin’ about food, can I just say that I fuckin’ HATE peeps?
What are these things? What is up with their colors? From what I remember as a kid, they sucked! And why the fanaticism? – the peep dioramas, peep art, peep apparel, peep desserts, and now this: peepsfest. Three days of family-oriented peep-centric events. So much fun all with a little blob of radioactive sugar as the focal point.

    I don’t get it.

I ask the parents at MPH: What do you do? Do you keep your kids away from this stuff? Do you feed them meat, veggies, nuts and seeds at home and then just accept that they will get crap food at school or at a friend’s house? I am not a parent yet and I am curious how you face these challenges. Of course I spout, “When I have a kid they are gonna eat paleo and do crossfit!”, but that is easy for me to say, as I have zero perspective. What to do, what to dooooo?

I don’t know, but for now, join me people, grab a peep and put it in the microwave today. We can beat this. Fuck peeps.

    keep squattin’,

    Steve D

ps. I’m not seeing a CrossFit affiliate in Peepsville
